We are seeking a new Treasurer to work in partnership with our Student Cross Assosciation (SCA) Committee. Our current SCA Treasurer Clare Byrne is stepping down from the role in autumn 2024, having served nearly 10 years in the role.
As such, the SCA Trustees would like to invite expressions of interest from anyone wishing to put themselves forward to become the next SCA Treasurer.
Pilgrim Cross is made up of a central Organising Team with 4 main coordinating roles, 13 pilgrim groups and over 250 pilgrims who make their way to Walsingham each year. The current Student Cross Association Committee consists of:
5 Trustees
1 Honorary Treasurer
1 representative from each Leg of Pilgrim Cross
Up to 5 Other Elected Members (OEMs)
Current and previous General Organising Director of Pilgrim Cross
Roles and Responsibilities
- Preparing Accounts and compiling required paperwork
- Liaising with Independent Examiner of Accounts to ensure they are examined in a timely fashion
- Maintaining Cashbook on Excel
- Paying in all donations to bank
- Sourcing Float for SCA stalls in Walsingham
- Setting up all new standing orders
- Preparing and Distributing template for Leg Leaders to complete to apply for the General Disbursement and SCA Bursaries
- Calculating General Disbursement for each Leg
- Arranging payment of General Disbursement and SCA Bursaries directly to Leg Bank Accounts where possible
- Preparing and distributing information about preparing basic Leg accounts
- Chasing for Leg Accounts
- Completing Gift Aid returns
- Completing Charity Commission Return
- Attending Trustee meetings
- Preparing and presenting current Financial Information to the Trustees, the SCA Committee and all of Pilgrim Cross at the AGM
- Compiling and presenting ad-hoc requests from the Trustees

The Trustees will review all expressions of interest received, undertake follow-up conversations with interested candidates, and will make their recommendation for the new Treasurer to the SCA Committee meeting in October 2024.
