Every year the Pilgrim Cross AGM which happens in Walsingham votes in a new General Organising Director to coordinate the Easter Weekend and form a bridge between the 13 pilgrimage route leaders. They maintain contact with the Catholic and Anglican Shrine, work closely with the Liturgy Chair and SCA to ensure smooth celebrations in Walsingham on Easter Weekend.
Here Cameron Stokes, General Organising Director for 2025 introduces himself and what encouraged him to take up the role.
My name’s Cameron, I’m 27 and I live in London. I first joined Pilgrim Cross in 2016, after the pilgrimage had been recommended by members of my family. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of walking on Midland, Essex and London Leg, and finding a whole community of life-long friends along the way. After leading Midland Leg in 2023, I knew I wanted to support Pilgrim Cross in a larger way, and continue to give my time and dedication to a community that’s become such a huge part of my spiritual life.
Taking on the role of National Director is a great privilege, and I’m looking forward to working with you all over the coming year in making Easter 2025 the joyous occasion that Pilgrim Cross always aspires to be. A special thanks must go to Seb for all his hard work over the past year, he joins a very long list of outstanding GOD predecessors, and I hope to be able to count myself among them this time next year!
I wish all our new leadership teams and volunteers the very best of luck over the coming year, and I look forward to seeing you all at Walsingham for Pilgrim Cross 2025!
